Baked Fish With Buttery Mashed Potatoes

Flaking white fish over soft potatoes, pan juices spooned over both.

Ingredients

Per person. The planner scales these for however many you are cooking for.

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 400 degrees. Peel and quarter the potatoes and boil in salted water until a knife slides in easily, about 18 minutes.
  2. Place the fish in a baking dish, dot with a little of the butter, season and bake until it flakes easily, about 12 minutes.
  3. Drain the potatoes and mash with the remaining butter and the milk. Season well with salt.
  4. Serve the fish on the mashed potatoes, spooning the juices from the dish over both.
